Exploring the Ramon Crater by Jeep
Our journey crosses the rugged terrain of the Ramon Crater along 4x4 off-road trails. Throughout the drive, we will stop at unique locations for fascinating explanations about the desert.
With its colorful minerals, ancient rock formations, and rare geological phenomena, the Ramon Crater is the ultimate place to truly connect with nature, understand the basics of Geology and the history of the Negev. We will also learn about local desert vegetation, spot native wildlife, and enjoy beautiful memorable pictures and surprises along the way.
As the sun begins to set, we will ascend to the most beautiful viewpoint in the area. And then, the Ramon Crater will be revealed to us, painted in the stunning, warm hues of the setting sun over the Crater rim.
Campfire, Freshly Baked Pitas, & Tea
At twilight time, we will drive to a peaceful night-camp to settle in for our stargazing session.
We will light a campfire and acclimate ourselves in the beautiful silence and darkness of the desert.
Around the fire, we will bake delicious, hot pita bread on the Saj, brew traditional desert coffee and sweet herbal tea, and roast marshmallows as our eyes gently adapt to the darkening sky.
Guided Stargazing Journey
As the last light fades, the first and brightest stars begin to twinkle above us. This is when our journey through the night sky begins.
It is the ideal moment to discover the night sky, understand the basics of astronomy, find constellations, and learn the ancient art of Astro navigation.
As the night grows darker, we will reveal more stars, planets, deep-sky wonders and the heavens above.
The guiding is delivered in a light, engaging, and friendly manner—perfect for children and first-timers alike.
We focus on a hands-on experience without heavy telescopes, using high-power laser pointers, binoculars, and other interactive tools.
